COLONIE — Eight of Tioga's nine wrestlers reached the podium, led by first-place finishers freshman Kyah Nelson and junior RaeAnne Feeko, in the Tigers' fifth-place finish in the 30-team field at the rugged Kristie Stenglein-Davis Girls Wrestling Tournament here Saturday.

Freshman Taylor Sindoni, sophomore Amelia Toomey, and senior Kali Bailey were third-place finishers for the Tigers, and juniors Mia Hall and Lilly Mezzatesta, and freshman Cora Szymanski each placed fifth.

Shaker, with 22 wrestlers, ran away with the team title with 360 points, while Bethlehem Central (13) was second with 206, Niskayuna-Schnectady (13) was third with 176.5 points, Columbia (11) was fourth with 171, and Tioga (9) tallied 142 points.

Feeko, a first-year wrestler, was 2-0 in pool play in the 126-pound B bracket, scoring pins of Mechanicville-Stillwater's Isabella Lyon in 2:45, and Cairo-Durham's Abby Hartmann in 21 seconds.

In the quarterfinals, Feeko decked Rensselaer's Isabella Ortiz in 2:46 to advance to the semifinals, where she forged a 10-0 technical fall over Shaker's Kaylee Vautrin.

In the finals, Feeko pinned Bethlehem Central's Sierra Doherty in 43 seconds.

Nelson was 5-0, including four first-period pins, on her way to the 165-pound title.

In pool action, Nelson decked Shaker's Liz Williamson in 1:15, and Windsor's Emily Williams in 60 seconds.

In the quarterfinals, Nelson flattened Coxsackie's Trinity Fenton-Bement in 16 seconds, then scored a 10-o technical fall of Cobleskill-Richmondville's Ziva Barber in the semifinals.

In the finals, Nelson had a rematch with Williamson and pinned her in 1:16.

Sindoni was 3-1 in 100-pound bracket pool action on her way to third place.

Sindoni opened with a 14-2 technical fall of Glens Falls' Isabella McMahon, then lost via first-period fall to Shaker's Kendall Harrington.

Sindoni closed out pool play with a 50-second fall of Berlin-New Lebanon's Carley Ploof, and a 38-second pin of Rensselaer's Maya Santana.

In the third-place match, Sindoni decked Hoosick Falls' Taylor Myers in 1:26.

Toomey was 3-0 in pool action before losing in the semifinals on her way to a third-place finished in the 145-pound A pool.

Bailey went 2-2 to finish third in the 132-pound A pool.

Bailey lost her first bout via first-period fall to Shaker's Navaho Bayer, then bounced back with a 10-0 technical fall of Berlin-New Lebanon's Vivienne Power.

Bailey dropped an 8-3 decision to Columbia's Bella Santiano in her next bout, then closed out the day with a 39-second pin of Hoosick Falls' Madison Myers.

Hall, a first-year wrestler, lost her first match via-second period fall, but bounced back to pin Hoosick Falls' Khloe Lozo in 2:34.

Hall picked up a forfeit in the next round, then dropped her final pool play bout in the 107-pound B pool via third-period fall to Maple Hills' Alex Haught.

In the fifth-place match, Hall pinned Hoosick Falls' Tinley Mayr in 1:54 to finish the day at 3-2.

Mezzatesta went 3-2 to finish third in the 235-pound pool.

After losing her first match via fall, Mezzatesta scored a 10-0 technical fall over Guilderland's Liz Countermine, and a 25-second fall over Coxsackie-Athens' Carla Flach.

Mezzatesta finished pool action at 2-2 with a loss via pinfall in the second period to Columbia's Emelia Merhige.

In the fifth-place match, Mezzatesta forged a 10-0 technical fall of Colonie's Tamia Savoca-Dawkins.

Szymański dropped her first two bouts, but bounced back to win three straight to finish fifth in the 138-pound B pool.

Szymański scored an 11-0 technical fall of Cobleskille-Richmondville's Miranda Cancio to finish pool play at 1-2.

In the consolation semifinals, Szymanski received a medical forfeit to advance to the fifth-place match, where she scored a 12-2 technical fall of Owego's Tatum Kowalski.

Junior Marcy Moniz was 0-4 at 138 pounds.

Tioga returns to action this weekend at the Southern Tier Memorial.
