NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: PELLICANO POWERS SAYRE IN 70-45 WIN OVER COWANESQUE VALLEY (2025-01-07)

WESTFIELD, Pa. — Nick Pellicano led four scorers in double-figures as Sayre rolled to a 70-45 win over Cowanesque Valley here Tuesday night in NTL Small School Division boys basketball action.

Senior Ryan Ressler scored eight points in the first quarter, while Pellicano scored four points, and senior Zach Senese knocked down a 3-pointer to help Sayre to a 17-8 lead after the first eight minutes.

Senior Hudson Trump drained a 3-pointer early in the second quarter, and scored seven points, while Pellicano scored six points, and Senese added five, including a 3-pointer, in a 20-12 run that extended the Redskin lead to 37-20 at the halftime break.

Pellicano scored seven points in the third quarter, while Senese had five points, and Ressler added four points to fuel an 18-8 run that extended Sayre's lead to 55-28 entering the final eight minutes.

Pellicano pumped in 25 points, grabbed six boards, and had four steals, while Senese had 13 points and four assists, and Trump had 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

Ressler had 12 points and five rebounds in the win, while  senior Theo Molina had four assists and three rebounds, and seniors Mikey Griffin and Dalton Forrest, and junior Karter Green each grabbed three boards.

Sayre, now 7-3, returns to action Friday at NEB in a game originally scheduled for Thursday.
