STAC JV GIRLS BASKETBALL: CHENANGO FORKS CONTROLS SECOND HALF IN 40-22 WIN OVER WAVERLY (2025-01-08)

BINGHAMTON — Waverly struggled to find the bucket in the second half on its way to a 40-22 loss to Cheanngo Forks here Tuesday evening in STAC Central Division junior varsity girls basketball action.

Forks led 9-7 after the first quarter, but Waverly closed the gap to 16-15 at the half.

The Blue Devils used an 11-6 spurt in the third quarter to take a 27-21 lead into the final seven minutes, then blew the game open with a 13-1 blitz in the fourth quarter.

Gianna Soprano led Waverly with five points, while Raygane Oakes, Kezlyn DeKay, and Taylin Gonzalez added four points apiece.

Waverly returns to action Monday at Ithaca.
