STAC JV BOYS BASKETBALL: WAVERLY STYMIES FORKS IN 43-13 ROUT (2025-01-09)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Waverly limited Chenango Forks to just three field goals through the first three quarters on its way to a 43-13 win here Wednesday night in STAC junior varsity boys basketball action.
The Wolverines scored all the points they would need in a 19-3 first-quarter blitz, fueled by nine points from Braiden Judson, and six from Sam Cheresnowsky.
Collin Wheeler canned a 3-pointer, and added three free throws after being fouled on a shot from behind the arc, while Judson scored four points, and Rylan Yeakel connected on a 3-pointer in a 15-2 run that gave the Wolverines a 34-5 lead at the halftime break.
Waverly outscored Forks, 9-8, in the second half.
Judson led Waverly with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals, while Collin Wheeler had eight points, four steals, and one blocked shot, and Cheresnowsky had eight points, four rebounds, three assists, and one blocked shot.
Eric Lewis chipped in with four points and three rebounds in the win, while Drew Croft pulled down nine boards and dished out three assists, Chase Wheeler hauled down six rebounds, and Rylen Larson added three rebounds.
Waverly, now 7-2, hosts Whitney Point Saturday afternoon.
