Valley Sports ReportTOWANDA — Senior Ethan Hicks, and sophomores Eli Hicks and Brayden Pettitt were quad-winners to lead the Athens boys to a 109-58 win over Towanda, while junior Evelyn Panek and senior Elizabeth Talada also won four events to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 94-31 win here Thursday in NTL swimming & diving action.
BOYS
Athens 109, Towanda 58The Wildcats won every event, led by four-time winners Ethan Hicks, Eli Hicks, and Pettitt.
Sophomore Jacob Shores was a triple-winner for Athens, while senior Josh Leonard and junior Ty Lezak were double-winners.
Pettitt, Eli Hicks, Ethan Hicks, and Leonard teamed to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:49.62.
Eli Hicks, Ethan Hicks, Leonard and Shores teamed to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:44.83.
Pettitt, Ethan Hicks, Lezak, and sophomore Dominic Musick teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:38.59.
Ethan Hicks won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:14.51, and Musick was second in 2:34.27.
Pettitt won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 57.72 seconds, and Leonard was third in 1:01.93. Pettitt also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 57.57 seconds.
Eli Hicks led a sweep in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 53.63 seconds, while Lezak was second in 58.78 seconds, and Musick was third in 1:00.99. Eli Hicks also won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.94 seconds.
Shores won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:06.93. Shores also won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:07.55, and sophomore Austin Quattrini was second in 6:14.5.
Lezak led a sweep in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:11.48, while Leonard was second in 1:19.77, and senior Pierce Oldroyd was third in 1:30.16.
GIRLS
Athens 94, Towanda 31Joining four-time winners Panek and Talada in the winner's circle for the Wildcats were a pair of triple winners — junior Elizabeth Denlinger and senior Maryrose Bertsch, and a trio of double-winners — freshman Brooke Lyon, and juniors Madeline Henderson and Kayla Marshall.
Panek, Denlinger, Bertsch, and Marshall teamed to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:29.0.
Panek, Denlinger, Henderson, and Talada teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:58.14
Talada, Bertsch, Lyon and Marshall teamed to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:57.11.
Panek led a sweep in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:02.34, while Denlinger was second in 1:02.47, and Marshall was third in 1:11.55. Panek also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:17.16.
Denlinger won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:20.8, and Henderson was second in 1:30.9.
Talada won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:27.15. Talada also won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:41.36.
Bertsch won the 200-yard IM in a time of 3:14.65
Junior Madeline Henderson led a sweep in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 30.27 seconds, while freshman Brooke Lyon was second in 31.1 seconds, and Marshall was third in 31.42 seconds.
Freshman Brooke Lyon won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:32.47, and Bertsch was second in 1:33.54.
