Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The third annual Southern Tier Memorial Wrestling Tournament takes center stage as the boys tournament kicks off this afternoon. The girls tournament will be held tomorrow.

Southern Tier Memorial, 3 p.m. @ LeCom Center, Elmira: The Southern Tier Memorial has grown to 38 teams, including Athens, Sayre, Tioga, and Waverly, as well as Troy, Williamson, Owego, SVEC, Newark Valley, Thomas A. Edison, Elmira, Corning, and Horseheads
The field also includes teams from around New York State, including St. Anthony's, Tottenville, Canandaigua, Canisteo-Greenwood, and Watertown.
Pennsylvania is also well-represented with Wyoming Area, Bellefonte, Chambersburg, Lackawanna Trail, Penn Valley, Scranton Prep, and South Williamsport.
The longest trip will be made by West Springfield, Mass.
Sophomore Declan McKee at 101, junior Logan Bellis at 124, and junior Jayden Duncanson at 138 are top seeds for Tioga.
Waverly junior Troy Beeman is the top seed at 285, and Athens senior Caleb Nason is the second seed.
Cooper Robinson at 152, and sophomore Matthias Welles at 215 are second seeds for the Wolverines.
