ELMIRA — Sophomores Zaine Campbell and Connor Davidson each finished fourth to lead six Wildcat grapplers on to the podium here Saturday at the third annual Southern Tier Memorial at the LeCom Events Center.

Freshman Treyton Barrett and sophomore Lucas Persun each finished seventh, and junior Karson Sipley and sophomore Brendan Cooke were eighth-place finishers for the Wildcats, who finished 11th in the 38-team field.

Chambersburg (Pa.) won the team title with 193 points, edging runner-up Bellefonte Area (Pa.) by 3.5 points. Penns Valley (Pa.) was third with 167 points, St. Anthony's was fourth with 137.5 points, and Waverly was fifth with 135 points. Tioga finished 10th with 103.5 points, and Athens tallied 100 points.

Campbell was 3-1 Saturday to finish fourth in the 124-pound weight class. He was 5-2 on the weekend.

Campbell opened the day with a 53-second fall of Bellefonte's Jacob Horne in the "blood round."

Campbell followed that up with a 22-5 technical fall win over Wyoming Area's Connor Novakowski, then beat Newark Valley's Trevor Middendorf, 10-4, in the consolation semifinals.

In the third-place match, Campbell lost via second-period fall to Schuyler's Lucas Hoffman, who finished fourth at the NY State Division II Championships last year.

Davidson went 3-1 Saturday to finish fourth in the 170-pound bracket. He 6-2 on the weekend.

Davidson opened the day with a pin of Penns Valley's Robert Martin in 2:16 in the "blood round," then scored a takedown with 3 seconds remaining to edge Horseheads' Jaxson Burchard, 5-3.

In the consolation semifinals, Davidson forged a 20-7 major decision over West Springfield's Harith AlSultani.

In the third-place match, Davidson dropped a 4-0 decision to Bellefonte's Jackson Long.

Barrett was 2-1 Saturday to finish seventh in the 145-pound bracket. He was 5-2 on the weekend.

Barrett opened his day with a 19-3 technical fall win over teammate junior Sean Peters in the "blood round."

In his next bout, Barrett dropped a heart-breaking, 9-8, decision, allowing a seven-point move in the final seconds.

In the seventh-place match, Barrett scored a takedown with 8 seconds remaining to pull out a 4-3 decision over Newark Valley's Marcos Escalante.

Persun was 2-1 on the day to place seventh in the 131-pound weight class.

Persun opened the day with an 18-3 technical fall win over teammate Wyatt Clink in the "blood round."

In his next bout, Persun dropped a 10-0 major decision to SVEC's Rodney Vaow. In the seventh-place match, Persun received a medical forfeit.

Sipley was 1-2 Saturday to finish eighth at 138 pounds.

Sipley topped Waverly junior Daltton Davis, 7-1, in the blood round in his opening match, then dropped a 13-4 decision to Owego sophomore Dylan Brace. Sipley was disqualified in the seventh-place match.

Cooke was 1-2 Saturday to finish eighth at 160 pounds.

Cooke opened the day with a 15-0 technical fall win over U-E's Logan Barnes in the "blood round," then dropped a 13-5 decision to Tottenville's Connor Justseen. In the seventh-place match, Cook lost via second-period fall to Letchworth's Gunner Kemp.

Athens returns to action Tuesday at Towanda, then hosts North Penn-Liberty Thursday.
