NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: RESSLER POWERS SAYRE IN 75-49 WIN OVER NORTH PENN-LIBERTY (2025-01-14)
Valley Sports ReportLIBERTY — Senior Ryan Ressler led three players in double-figures in Sayre's 75-49 win over North Penn-Liberty here Tuesday night in NTL Small School Division boys basketball action.
"We started off a little slow out the gate, but got lucky enough to knock down a few tough shots to get us rolling," said Sayre coach Paul Blythe. "We played our style and were able to impose our will, which is always our focus — make the other team play how we want the game played.
"Nick (Pellicano), Hudson (Trump), Ryan (Ressler), Karter (Green) and Zach (Senese) really set the tone early," he noted. "We got some great ball movement out of our offense, and were able to execute early.
"Once we got rolling we were not going to stop. We had a few lucky bounces go our way tonight and you need that to win some games.
"Overall, we played well," said Blythe. "Still, there are some things we need to clean up, but each night we chase the next level and we are getting better every time out.
"I couldn’t ask for more from these guys with their hard work in practice and in games," added Blythe. "It makes it easy to coach when the team is clicking like we are now."
Senior Mikey Griffin knocked down a pair of 3-pointers, and scored eight points off the bench in the first quarter, while Ressler scored six points, and senior Nick Pellicano added four points in a game-opening 24-12 blitz in the opening stanza.
