IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: BOMBARD LEADS TIOGA TO 55-43 WIN OVER S-VE (20 PHOTOS) (2025-01-17)
Valley Sports ReportSPENCER — Sophomore Jackson Bombard poured in a career-high 28 points, including eight fourth-quarter free throws, to lead Tioga to a 55-43 win over S-VE here Friday night in IAC South Small School boys basketball action.
Bombard knocked down a pair of 3-pointers, and converted an old-fashion three-point play in the first quarter, and senior Trystan Barto also canned two 3-pointers, but the S-VE of Luukas Carling and Christopher Merrick combined for 13 points. Tioga led 15-13 after the opening stanza.
Bombard scored seven more points in the second quarter, and junior Dominic Palmer added four points as Tioga outscored S-VE, 13-10, to take a 28-23 lead into the halftime locker room.
Palmer scored five more points in the third quarter, and sophomore Gavin Kithcart added four points as Tioga added two points to its cushion, and led 38-31 heading into the final eight minutes.
Bombard scored 12 points in the fourth quarter. He was 8 of 12 from the free-throw line, and made six in a row to help the Tigers lock down the win.
Bombard had four assists, and four steals to go along with 28 points, while Kithcart had 10 points, 13 rebounds, and one blocked shot, and Palmer had nine points, 19 rebounds, and four blocked shots.
Barto had six points and three rebounds, while junior Jame Miller grabbed six boards and three steals, and junior Talon Wood added three rebounds.
Carling pumped in 25 points to lead the Panthers, and Merrick scored 16.
Tioga, now 4-8, travels to Newark Valley Tuesday.
