NTL BOYS & GIRLS SWIMMING: ATHENS BOYS, GIRLS POST BIG WINS OVER LEWISBURG (11 PHOTOS) (2025-01-28)

ATHENS — Senior Ethan Hicks, and sophomore Brayden Pettitt and Eli Hicks were quad-winners to lead the Athens boys to a big win over Lewisburg, while juniors Elizabeth Denlinger, Olivia Thompson, and Evelyn Panek were triple-winners to lead the Lady Wildcats to a victory in non-league swimming action.

BOYS
Athens 114, Lewisburg 41

Athens won 10 of 12 events, with seniors Ryan Gorman, Josh Leonard, and Ronel Ankam each winning two events.

Pettitt, Eli Hicks, Ethan Hicks, and Ankam teamed to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:39.63.

Eli Hicks, Ethan Hicks, Gorman, and senior Ronel Ankam teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:35.36, and the foursome of junior Ty Lezak, and sophomores Dominic Musick, Austin Quattrini, and Jacob Shores finished second in 1:46.13.

Eli Hicks, Pettitt, Leonard, and Gorman won the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:48.2.

Ethan Hicks won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.75 seconds, and senior Aiden Oldroyd was second in 27.15 seconds.

Ethan Hicks won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:00.4, and Leonard was third in 1:11.14.

Pettitt won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:06.27, and Lezak was third in 2:35.02.

Pettitt won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:02.33, and Lezak was second in 1:12.67.

Eli Hicks won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 51.64 seconds, and Gorman was second in 55.42 seconds.

Leonard won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.44, and Musick was third in 1:05.33.

Shores was second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:02.56, and  Quattrini was third in 2:16.33.

Shores was also second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:49.57, and Quattrini was again third in a time of 6:10.37.

GIRLS
Athens 96, Lewisburg 53

Freshman Kaylee Bolt logged her first varsity win to help the Lady Wildcats to a 96-53 win over Lewisburg.

Panek, Denlinger, Thompson, and sophomore Kaitlyn Leonard teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:50.42.

Panek, Denlinger, Thompson, and and junior Madeline Henderson teamed to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:22.46.

Denlinger won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:22.61, and senior Elizabeth Talada was second in 2:24.98. Denlinger was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:21.12, and Henderson was third in 1:32.32.

Panek won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.24 seconds, while Thompson was second in 27.48 seconds, and junior Kayla Marshall was third in 30.52 seconds. Panek finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:12.78

Thompson won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:12.29, and Leonard was second in 1:22.69.

Bolt won the 1-meter diving competition with a six-dive score of 142.15 points

Senior Maryrose Bertsch was second in the 200-yard IM In a time of 3:19.91, and Talada was second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:31.45.

Henderson finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:06.18, and freshman Brooke Lyon was third in 1:07.96.

Athens hosts Wellsboro and Towanda Thursday.
