ATHENS — The Athens boys and girls celebrated Senior Night with big wins over Wellsboro and Towanda here Thursday in NTL swimming action.

BOYS
Athens 69, Wellsboro 16
Athens 68, Towanda 22

Sophomore Brayden Pettitt and Eli Hicks, and seniors Ethan Hicks and Ronel Ankam were triple-winner, and senior Ryan Gorman and junior Ty Lezak were double-winners in wins over Wellsboro and Towanda.

Pettitt won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:01.03. He also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 56.73 seconds.

Ethan Hicks won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:18.26, and Quattrini was second in 6:12.1.

Ankam won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:10.82, and sophomore Austin Quattrini was third in 2:14.51.

Pettitt, Eli Hicks, Ethan Hicks, and Ankam won the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:31.03, and the Athens foursome of seniors Aiden Oldroyd, Pierce Oldroyd, Brady Darrow, and Josh Leonard was second in 4:31.21.

Pettitt and Eli Hicks teamed with sophomore Dominic Musick and Lezak won the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:48.44, and the Athens foursome of Ankam, Gorman, Ethan Hicks, and Leonard was second in 1:54.13.

Eli Hicks, Ethan Hicks, Gorman, and Ankam won the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:34.1, while the Athens foursome of sophomore Jacob Shores, sophomore Matt Rosettie, senior Brady Darrow, and sophomore Dominic Musick was second in 1:51.69.

Lezak won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:11.63, and Pierce Oldroyd was third in 1:26.53

Gorman won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.03 seconds.

Leonard won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:01.6.

Rosettie won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:00.93.

GIRLS
Athens 71, Wellsboro 20
Athens 78, Towanda 15

Sophomore Kaitlyn Leonard won four events, and juniors Evelyn Panek, Elizabeth Denlinger, and Olivia Thompson were triple-winners in Athens' wins over Wellsboro and Towanda.

Leonard won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:17.38, and Denlinger was second in 1:17.59.

Panek won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.46 seconds, and Thompson was second in 27.2 seconds.

Thompson won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:09.4, and Panek was second in 1:16.76.

Denlinger won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:20.38

Thompson, Denlinger, Panek and Leonard teamed to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:03.18, and the Athens foursome of juniors Kayla Marshall and Madeline Henderson, senior MaryRose Bertsch, and freshman Brooke Lyon was second in 2:26.53.

The same foursome won the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:47.53, while the foursome of Talada, Henderson, Lyon and Marshall finished second in 1:57.92.

Leonard teamed with Henderson, Lyon, and Talada to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:23.03.

Marshall won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:04.21, and Lyon was second in 1:07.89.

Freshman Kaylee Bolt won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 162.8 points.

Senior Elizabeth Talada finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:21.21.

Talada was also second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:29.84, and Bertsch was third in 7:18.95.

Henderson finished second in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:45.23, and Bertsch was third in 3:12.77.

Athens closes out the dual season at home against Bloomsburg Thursday.
