STAC BOWLING: WAVERLY SUFFERS RARE LOST GAME IN 4-1 WIN OVER CHENANGO VALLEY; LADY WOLVERINES SWEEP (2025-01-30)
Valley Sports ReportBINGHAMTON — The Waverly boys had three bowlers roll 600 series, but suffered just their third lost game of the season in a 4-1 win over Chenango Valley here Thursday afternoon, while the Lady Wolverines posted a sweep in STAC bowling action.
BOYS
Waverly 4, Chenango Valley 1The Wolverines, now 37-3, won the first two games by scores of 1,005-1,003 and 993-895, but the Warriors won the third game 1,020-979. Waverly held on to win the two-point total-pinfall by a count of 2,977 to 2,918.
Maison Apgar led the Wolverines with a 656 series on games of 243, 204, and 209, while Derek Johnson shot a 622 on games of 204, 226, and 192, and Colten Santalucia rolled a 617 on games of 194, 213, and 210.
Tristan Campbell added a 595 for Waverly, including a 209, while Dom Wood rolled games of 170 and 141, and Trevor Allen tacked on a game of 176.
Nate Adams led CV with a match-high 697 series.
GIRLS
Waverly 5, Chenango Valley 0Serenity Conklin and Karis Hayes rolled 500 series to lead Waverly to a 5-0 sweep of Chenango Valley.
The Wolverines won the first game 795-574, and followed it up with wins of 789-726, and 834-736 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,418 to 2,036.
Conklin shot a 541 series, including a 210 in the third game, and Hayes shot a 516.
Ariel Houseknecht rolled a 491 for the Wolverines, while Rylie Witman shot a 444, and Aby Apgar added a 426.
Abby Herleg led CV with a 500 series.
Waverly returns to action Monday when it hosts Chenango Forks.
JV BoysWaverly swept the junior varsity boys match, including total-pinfall by a count of 2,288 to 1,875.
Camden Leary led Waverly with a 533 series, and Griff Walter added a 515.
