Scott Woodring hit a career milestone with one of the best games of his college career, scoring 25 points to reach 1,000 for his career in Mansfield University's 87-78 win over Kutztown here Saturday afternoon.
Woodring, who also pulled down 11 rebounds, knocked down 9 of his 16 shots from the field, including one 3-pointer. He also had two assists and two steals.
The double-double was the fourth of the season for Woodring.
Woodring now has 1,013 career points and 606 career rebounds. He has averaged 9.9 points and 5.9 rebounds in 102 career games — he has started all 102 games.
Woodring becomes the 27th Mountaineer to reach the 1,000-point club, and is currently 26th on the all-time scoring list, which also includes his former high school coach (Troy grad) Lou Judson, who is fifth on the list with 1,521 points.
Mansfield, now 7-16, returns to action Wednesday at home against Bloomsburg.
