WILLIAMSPORT — Junior Evelyn Panek logged Athens' only win here Saturday at the Williamsport Swimming & Diving Invitational, while the Wildcat foursome of seniors Ethan Hicks and Ronel Ankam and sophomores Brayden Pettitt and Eli Hicks set a new school record in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The Athens boys finished second in the team standings with 281 points, well off the pace of Tunkhannock, which had 431 points.

The Lady Wildcats were fifth with 160.5 points. Williamsport won the team title with 334 points.

ATHENS GIRLS PLACE FIFTH

Panek had four top-three finishes to lead Athens to a fifth-place finish in the team standings.

Panek won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.0 seconds, while junior Olivia Thompson was fourth in 26.98 seconds, and junior Kayla Marshall was 14th in 28.67 seconds.

Panek also finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.71 seconds, and Marshall was 15th in 1:03.91.

Panek teamed Thompson, Denlinger and Leonard placed third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:47.83.

Panek, Thompson, and Denlinger, teamed with Marshall to finish third in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:02.05.

Denlinger finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:13.22, and senior Elizabeth Talada was 16th in 2:21.12.

Denlinger also finished eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:19.05

Thompson was ninth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:08.58

Junior Madeline Henderson was 14th in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:45.97.

Talada finished 14th in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:21.95.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Leonard was 16th in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:17.68.

ATHENS BOYS FINISH SECOND

Ethan Hicks had four top-three finishes to lead the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the team standings.

Ethan Hicks, Pettitt, Eli Hicks and Ankam teamed to finish second in a school-record time of 3:24.89 in the 400 free relay, while the Wildcat foursome of sophomores Jacob Shores, Matt Rossettie, Dominic Musick, and Austin Quattrini finished seventh in 3:59.03.

Pettitt finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 56.88 seconds, and senior Josh Leonard was 10th in 1:05.77.

Ethan Hicks, Pettitt, junior Ty Lezak, Eli Hicks teamed to finish third in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:45.15.

Ethan Hicks placed third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 49.59 seconds, and senior Ryan Gorman was 10th in 54.75 seconds.

Ethan Hicks, Eli Hicks, Ankam, and senior Ryan Gorman teamed to finish third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:32.3.

Eli Hicks placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.15 seconds, and Gorman was 13th in 24.4 seconds.

Josh Leonard placed sixth in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 59.99 seconds, and sophomore Dominic Musick was 12th in 1:04.96.

Sophomore Jacob Shores finished sixth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:48.65, and sophomore Austin Quattrini was eighth in 6:08.88

Shores also finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:02.68, while Ankam was 10th in 2:03.28, and Quattrini was 16th in 2:14.08.

Lezak finished 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:12.26
