THE VALLEY — Athens hits the road to Jersey Shore in the opening game of the District 4, Class 4A girls basketball playoffs.

6-Athens (15-7) at 3-Jersey Shore (15-6), 7 p.m.: The Wildcats are coming off a 39-35 win over Wyalusing on Feb. 10, while the Bulldogs dropped a 56-51 decision to Loyalsock.

Athens won eight of its final 10 regular-season games, while Jersey Shore lost three of its last four, after winning eight in a row.

Athens and Jersey Shore played NTL champion Troy two days apart. Athens dropped a 50-39 decision on Feb. 6, while Jersey Shore lost, 57-48, on Feb. 8.
