SECTION IV BASKETBALL: WAVERLY BOYS, GIRLS ARE 2-SEEDS, WILL OPEN CLASS B PLAYOFFS AT HOME (2025-02-20)

Valley Sports Report
WAVERLY — The Waverly boys and girls are both the second seeds in their respective Section IV, Class B basketball playoffs, and will open at home next weekend.

BOYS
The Wolverines (11-9) will host Watkins Glen (8-10) in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. next Friday.

The winner will play the winner of the game between third-seeded Lansing (14-5) and sixth-seeded Sidney (8-12) on March 4 at the highest remaining seed's home court.

At the top of the bracket, top-seeded Dryden (16-3) receives a bye into the semifinals, where it will face the winner of the game between fourth-seeded Walton-Downsville (13-6) and fifth-seeded Chenango Forks (8-12).

The Class B finals are set for March 9 at 3:15 p.m. at the Visions Memorial Arena in Binghamton.

GIRLS
The Lady Wolverines (16-3) are the second seed, and will host seventh-seed Lansing (8-11) March 1 at 6 p.m.

The winner will play the winner of the game between third-seeded Chenango Forks (14-5) and sixth-seeded Whitney Point (9-9).

At the top of the bracket, top-seeded Susquehanna Valley (15-3) will host Walton-Downsville (8-12) in the quarterfinals, and fourth-seeded Watkins Glen (16-2) will host fifth-seeded Sidney (11-4).

The Class B final is set for March 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Visions Memorial Arena.
