SECTION IV GIRLS BOWLING: WAVERLY FINISHES THIRD AT CLASS C CHAMPIONSHIPS (2025-02-21)
Valley Sports ReportVESTAL — Waverly had a pair of bowlers in the top-10, and finished third here Friday at the Section IV, Class C Championships at Midway Lanes.
Windsor claimed the Class C title with 2,716 pins, while Oxford-Greene was second with 2,639 pins, Waverly tallied 2,433 pins, Union Springs / Port Byron was fourth at 2,328, and Newark Valley was fifth with 2,288 pins.
Serenity Conklin was eighth in the Class C field on the day with a 560 series, including a 220 — the third-highest game on the day.
Rylie Witman was 10th with a 544 series, including a 193, while Ariel Houseknecht had a 503, including a 198, and Karis Hayes added a 487.
Aby Apgar rolled two games for 261 pins for the Wolverines, and Emmalynn Vanderpool tacked on a 78 in one game.
Conklin and Hayes will compete at the Section IV State Qualifier Friday at 9 a.m. at Waverly's Valley Bowling Center.
