SECTION IV BOYS BOWLING: WAVERLY ROLLS FOUR 600s, WINS CLASS C TITLE (2025-02-22)
Valley Sports ReportVESTAL — Waverly, the STAC champion, racked up another title Saturday morning, winning the Section IV, Class C championship here at Midway Lanes, thanks to four 600 series, and three top-10 finishers.
The Wolverines claimed the Class C team title with a three-game set of 3.066, while Sidney-Unatego was second at 2,927, Oxford-Greene was third at 2,852, Susquehanna Valley was fourth at 2,807, and Union Springs / Port Byron was fifth at 2,725.
Eighth-grader Colten Santalucia was third in the Class C field with a 662 series on games of 222, 204, and 236 — tied for fourth-highest game of the day.
Sophomore Maison Apgar was sixth with a 630 series on games of 213, 185, 232, while junior Derek Johnson was 10th with a 613 series on games of 203, 211, and 199, and senior Dom Wood was 16th with a 600 series on games of 190, 193, and 217.
Junior Tristan Campbell added a 561 series, including a 209.
The Wolverines will compete as a team for an opportunity to advance to the Division 2 state tournament Thursday at 9 a.m. at Section IV State Qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center.
