Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — The 2024-25 winter sports season is winding down to a conclusion, but there are still a few teams alive, and a few sports yet to hold its state championships, including this week's headline event — the PIAA girls wrestling championships at the Giant Center in Hershey.

There are four events on the docket this week, including the three-day PIAA girls wrestling championships.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

MONDAY (0)
No Games Scheduled.

TUESDAY (1)
•  The Waverly boys host Lansing in the Class B semifinals in a rematch of last year's Section IV championship game.

WEDNESDAY (1)
•  The Waverly girls host Chenango Forks in the Class B semifinals in the fourth meeting of the season for the STAC Central Division rivals.  

THURSDAY (1)
•  Athens will have five girls in action at Day 1 of the PIAA Girls Wrestling Championships at the Giant Center in Hershey.

FRIDAY (1)
•  It's Day 2 of the PIAA Girls Wrestling Championships at the Giant Center in Hershey.

SATURDAY (2)
•  The PIAA Girls Wrestling Championships at the Giant Center in Hershey wraps up.

• Sayre opens play in the PIAA Class AA boys basketball playoffs at Old Forge. Game time is 4 p.m.
