PIAA BOYS SWIMMING: PETTITT, ELI HICKS EARN WILD CARDS; ATHENS WILL SWIM SEVEN EVENTS AT STATES (2025-03-03)

ATHENS — Senior Ethan Hicks and all three of the Athens relays earned berths at next week's PIAA Class AA Swimming & Diving Championships by winning District 4 gold last week. Now, sophomores Brayden Pettitt, in two events, and Eli Hicks have been issued wild cards for their times at the D4 meet.

Ethan Hicks, who won four gold medals at the D4 Championships, punched his ticket to States in an individual event by winning the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.38 seconds.

Ethan Hicks teamed with senior Ronel Ankam, Pettitt and Eli Hicks to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:22.34.

The Hicks brothers and Pettitt teamed with senior Ryan Gorman to win the 200-yard medley relay in a school-record time of 1:40.17.

The Hicks brothers, Gorman and Ankam teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a school-record time of 1:21.12.

Pettitt earned wild cards in the 200-yard IM with a school-record time of 1:59.19, and in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.17. He placed second in both events at the D4 meet.

Eli Hicks earned a wild card in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.19 seconds. He was also second at the D4 meet.

On the girls side, the 400-yard freestyle relay is the third alternate, and junior Evelyn Panek is the sixth alternate in the 50-yard freestyle.

The PIAA Class AA Swimming & Diving Championships are set for March 12-13 at Bucknell University.
