COLLEGE WRESTLING: ATHENS GRAD BRADLEY PUNCHES TICKET TO NATIONALS FOR THIRD TIME; PLACES THIRD AT REGIONALS (2025-03-03)

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Athens grad Gavin Bradley, a junior on the Castleton University men's wrestling team, punched his ticket to the NCAA Division III Championships for the third time here over the weekend.

Bradley finished third at the Northeast Regional Championships posting a 4-1 record.

Bradley, the second seed at 125 pounds, began his weekend with an 11-1 win over Christopher Colon of Williams College.

Bradley scored a first-period takedown and led 3-1 after the first three minutes, then added another in the second period to take a 7-1 lead into the final two minutes.

A third takedown late in the third period, plus a riding time points provided the final margin.

In the quarterfinals, Bradley decked Norwich's Jabari Pinckney in 42 seconds. He scored a takedown in the first 20 seconds, and added four near-fall points, before finishing it off moments later.

In the semis, Bradley dropped a 7-3 decision to Southern Maine's third-seeded Jake Craig.

Bradley bounced back in the consolation semifinals with an 18-0 technical fall of Roger Williams' Chris Tringali in 6:15.

Bradley hit a seven-point move midway through the first period to take a 7-0 lead, then added another takedown in the second period to up his lead to 10-0 heading into the third period.

Bradley added a takedown, four near-fall points, and a riding-time point to the final margin.

In the third-place match, Bradley topped Coast Guard's Nikko Beato, 10-3.

Bradley had takedowns in the each of the first two periods for a 7-0 lead heading into the third period.

After Beatto scored a takedown, Bradley escaped for an 8-3 advantage. A stalling point against Beato and the riding-time point provided the final margin.

Bradley is now 31-5 on the season, with 14 falls, three technical falls, and five major decisions.

Bradley was an All-American last year after a seventh-place finish at Nationals.
