VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: TIOGA'S McKEE, ATHENS' HICKS, RATHBUN NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2025-03-05)

THE VALLEY — Tioga sophomore Declan McKee won a N.Y. state wrestling title, Athens senior Ethan Hicks won four District 4 swimming gold medals, and Athens junior Hanna Rathbun punched her ticket to the PIAA Wrestling Championships. They are the Valley Sports Report / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week of March 1.

TIOGA'S McKEE, ATHENS' HICKS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
McKee went 4-0 to win the 101-pound title at the N.Y. State Division 2 Wrestling Championships.

McKee scored two pins and two decisions, including a 5-1 win over Southwestern's Adrian Torres in the finals.

McKee finished his sophomore season with a 34-3 record.

Hicks won the 50-yard freestyle, and swam on three first-place relays, qualifying for the state meet in all four events.

All three relays swam school-record times in their gold-medal performances.

ATHENS' RATHNBUN NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Rathbun, the ninth seed at 130 pounds, placed third to advance to the PIAA Championships.

Rathbun scored a technical fall, and a pin before losing in the semifinals, then scored a pair of falls to wrestle back for third place.
