NTL TRACK & FIELD: SHIKANGA, QUIROS, MALANOSKI PACE SAYRE'S EFFORTS IN SEASON OPENER (2025-03-26)

SAYRE — Senior Rose Shikanga was a triple-winner, while senior Marcos Quiros and sophomore Hudson Malanoski were each double-winners to pace Sayre's efforts in its season-opening dual against North Penn-Mansfield in NTL Track & Field action here Tuesday afternoon at the Lockhart Street Bowl.

No team scores were provided.

BOYS
Quiros won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.73 seconds. He also won the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.64 seconds.

Malanoski won the discus with a throw of 90-feet, 7-inches. He also won the shot put with a heave of 37-feet, 10 1/2-inches, and placed third in the javelin with an effort of 91-feet-6-inches.

Sophomore Declan Barry placed second in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 53.12 seconds.

Freshman Jayden Torres placed third in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 24.08 seconds.

Sophomore Glenn VanBenthuysen was third in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:29.

Senior Dante Rubeck placed third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.24 seconds.

The boys' 1,600- and 3,200-meter relays both finished second.

GIRLS
Shikanga won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 16.94 seconds, and the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 56.34 seconds. She also won the 200-meter dash in a time of 29.06 seconds.

Shikanga placed second in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.99 seconds

Junior Emma Cole won the discus with a throw of 73-feet, 4-inches. She placed second in the shot put with a heave of 23-feet, 2 1/2-inches, and was second in the javelin at 53-feet, 2-inches.

Senior Morgan Hickey was third in the triple jump at 22-feet, 2-inches.
