NTL SOFTBALL: SAYRE FALLS, 11-1, AT NORTHEAST BRADFORD (2025-03-27)

Valley Sports Report
ROME — Sayre kept the second go-round with Northeast Bradford much closer, but still ended up on the short end of an 11-1 four-inning loss here Thursday afternoon in NTL Small School softball action.

NEB scored three runs in the home half of the first inning, and two more in the second to build a 5-0 lead.

Sayre got on the board in the third inning on singles by freshmen Emily Strickland and McKenna Parrish, and an RBI single by junior Rylie Lantz.

The Panthers answered with two runs in the home half of the third, then brought the 10-run rule into effect with four runs in the fourth to make it 11-1.

Makenna Caller hit freshman Paige Secrist to open the top of the fifth, but was flawless after that to seal the win.

Lantz tripled and singled, and knocked in one run to pace Sayre's four-hit attack, while Strickland singled and scored one run, and McKenna Parrish added a single.

Zoey Ward allowed 11 runs — only one earned — on nine hits, while striking out two and walking none. Sayre committed six errors.

Sayre, now 1-3, returns to action Saturday afternoon at Wellsboro.
