VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: ATHENS' KEMP HEADLINES SUPER 7 AS GIRLS 'NEWCOMER OF THE WINTER' (2025-03-29)
Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — In her first season on the varsity hardwoods, Athens freshman
Allie Kemp played quality minutes in crunch time, and knocked down some big shots. She is the 2024-25 All-Valley Girls "
Newcomer of the Winter."
Possessing a high basketball IQ, Kemp is very good with the ball in her hands, and is dangerous from behind the arc.
Kemp averaged 6.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, and canned 22 3-pointers. She shot 41.2 percent from field, and 68 percent from the line.

Memphis Paul, freshman, Athens wrestling: Paul finished the season with a 20-11 record, and finished third at the District 4 Championships. She scored 18 pins on the season.
Gianna Rylott, 8th-grader, Waverly wrestling: Rylott finished the season with a 16-7 record, and placed second at the Section IV Championships. Rylott had nine pints, and two technical falls.
Kaylee Bolt, freshman, Athens diving: With just three varsity meets under her belt, Bolt finished second at the District 4 Championships with an 11-dive total of 285.5 points to punch her ticket to States.
Liz Hunter, junior, Sayre basketball: A very good athlete with a solid handle, Hunter averaged 5.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.8 steals per game.
Alyssa Rinebold, freshman, Athens: Rinebold was 18-13 on the season, with 1 pins. She placed fourth at the District 4 Championships.
Gianna Zieniuk, 8th-grader, Waverly: Zieniuk was 18-13 on the season, with 12 pins and one technical fall. She placed fourth at the STAC Championships and fourth at the Section IV Championships.
