Addy Wheeler put together a strong season on both ends of the floor. She is the 2024-25 All-Valley Girls "
Athlete of the Winter."
A fierce competitor with a sky-high basketball IQ, Wheeler packed the stat sheet on a consistent basis.
She averaged 13.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4 assists, and knocked down 20 3-pointers on the season.
Wheeler, the VSR "
Defensive Player of the Year" two years in a row, was consistently put on the opposition's best player. She averaged 6.2 steals and 3 deflections per game.

Ryleigh Judson, sophomore, Waverly basketball: A dangerous 3-point scorer who can also score in transition, Judson is improving her take-it-to-the-bucket game. She averaged 12.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.5 steals, and knocked down a Valley-high 46 3-pointers.
Addison Westbrook, senior, Waverly basketball: An exceptional defender with the ability score from all over the court, Westbrook averaged 12 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. She canned 32 3-pointers this season.
Hanna Rathbun, junior, Athens wrestling: Rathbun posted a 29-6 record during the regular season. She finished third at the District 4 Championships, and third at the Central Region Championships.
At States, she went 1-2, dropping a hard-fought, 2-0, decision, in her elimination match.
Rathbun finished the season with a 34-6 record, including 28 pins and four technical falls.
Kyah Nelson, freshman, Tioga wrestling: Nelson posted a dominant 25-2 record, with both losses coming to eventual state runner-up Teagan McGuinness. Nelson pinned McGuinness in the finals of the Windsor Lady Knight Invitational.
Nelson had 21 pins and three technical falls this season, and won a Section IV title, but did not wrestle at States.
Evelyn Panek, junior, Athens swimming: Panek placed second at the District 4 Championships in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.73 seconds. She was third in the 100 free in a school-record time of 56.57 seconds.
Panek also swam on relay teams that placed third and fourth in school-record times at the District 4 Championships.
Serenity Conklin, senior, Waverly bowling: Conklin finished her final season with a 178 average, which was good for 13th in the STAC this season.
At the State Qualifier, she rolled a 506 in the morning, but came back strong with a season-best 670 series in the afternoon. A week prior, she rolled a 560 at the Class C Championships for a nine-game set of 1,736 that qualified her for States.
She finished 30th at States with a six-game set of 1,095 on series of 513 and 585, which included a 225.
