IAC TRACK & FIELD: DOUBLE-WINNER EARLEY, ROSSI PACE TIOGA'S EFFORTS AT SEASON-OPENING FIVE-TEAM MEET (24 PHOTOS) (2025-04-01)
Valley Sports ReportNEWFIELD — In a non-scoring five-team meet, junior Andrew Dailey notched the Tioga boys only two wins here Monday afternoon in IAC Track & Field action, and freshman Vida Rossi earned the Lady Tigers' only first-place finish.
The meet also included Groton, Union Springs, Southern Cayuga, and Newfield.
BOYSEarley won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:01.90, and junior James Miller was second in 1:03.6.
Earley also won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.4 seconds, and Elijah Bellis was third in 18.03 seconds.
Freshman Mark McCane was second in the shot put with a heave of 35-feet, 6-inches. He was also second in the discus with a toss of 100-feet, 6-inches.
Junior Talon Wood finished third in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:06.82.
Senior Trevor Wheeler was third in the 200-meter dash in 25.3 seconds. He was third in the 400-meter dash in 55.7 seconds.
GIRLSFreshman Vida Rossi won the long jump with a leap of 16-feet, 1 1/2-inches. She also placed third in the 100-meter dash in 13.6 seconds.
Junior Mia Hall was second in the high jump at 4-feet, 6-inches. She also finished third in 400-meter dash in 1:08.6.
Sadie Marshall was second in the 400-meter hurdles in a mite of 1:20.81.
Sophomore Amelia Toomey was third in the discus with a toss of 56-feet, 10-inches.
Tioga will host a four-team non-scoring meet Thursday with Marathon, Moravia, and Newfield.
