IAC SOFTBALL: WILLIAMS LEADS TIOGA'S 20-HIT ATTACK IN 17-5 SEASON-OPENING WIN AT MORAVIA (2025-04-04)

MORAVIA — Senior McKenzie Williams banged out six hits to pace Tioga's 20-hit attack in a season-opening, 17-5, win over Moravia here Friday afternoon in IAC Small School softball action.

The Tigers took command immediately with five runs in the top of the first, and added two more runs in the second to take a 7-0 lead.

Tioga poured eight runs across the plate in the top of the third to extend its lead to 15-1.

Williams was 6-for-6 — all singles, with two runs scored and three RBI for the Tigers, while junior Emily Shiner had three hits, including two doubles, two runs scored and three RBI, and sophomore Jade Keaty had three hits, including a double, two runs scored, and three RBI.

Junior RaeAnne Feeko doubled and singled, scored four runs, and knocked in two runs in the win, while senior Erin Luther singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, and junior Lilly Mezzatesta singled twice, scored one run, and had three RBI.

Eighth-grader Kate Kithcart doubled, scored one run and drove in one run for Tioga, while sophomore Vanessa Tunnicliff singled and scored two runs, and 8th-grader Bri Lounsbury scored one run, and had one RBI.

Luther earned the win, allowing five runs — four earned — on three hits, while striking out six and walking five in 5 1/3 innings.

Feeko finished off the game with 1 2/3 innings of no-hit relief, striking out three and walking one.

Tioga returns to action Monday at Newark Valley.
