NTL BASEBALL: DAVIDSON TOSSES FOUR-INNING GEM; ATHENS BLANKS WILLIAMSON, 12-0 (2025-04-09)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Sophomore Connor Davidson pitched four strong innings, and Athens scored a crooked number in each of its four at-bats in a five-inning, 12-0, win over Williamson here Wednesday afternoon in NTL baseball action.
Davidson tossed four innings of one-hit ball, striking out nine and walking one to earn the win.
Sophomore Duncan Thetga struck out the side in a perfect inning of relief to end the game.
Junior Nick Grazul led off the home half of the first inning with a double, and scored on an RBI single by senior Troy Rosenbloom, who later scored on a two-out wild pitch to make it 2-0.
The Wildcats added two runs in the second inning on a two-run single by senior Dylan Saxon.
Athens took command with six runs in the third inning to extend the lead to 10-0. The rally featured an RBI double by sophomore Brendan Cooke, and three Williamson errors.
Cooke doubled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, and junior Eli Hobday singled, scored two runs, and knocked in one run to pace Athens' eight-hit attack, while Saxon singled and had three RBI, and Flynn singled and scored two runs.
Sophomore Kam Wheeler and Rosenbloom each singled, scored one run, and drove in one run in the win, while Grazul and Davidson each doubled and scored one run, and juniors Eli Chapman and Karson Sipley each scored one run.
Athens returns to action Sunday against Towanda at Scranton-Wilkes Barre's PNC Field.
