IAC SOFTBALL: FEEKO, KITHCART LEAD TIOGA TO 6-2 WIN OVER MORAVIA (2025-04-30)
Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — Junior RaeAnne Feeko was perfect at the plate, and 8th-grader Kate Kithcart pitched a complete game to lead Tioga to a 6-2 win over Moravia here Wednesday afternoon in IAC Small School softball action.
With one out in the bottom of the first inning, sophomore Jade Keaty slapped a single, and Feeko belted a 1-1 pitch over the center-field fence to give the Tigers a quick 2-0 lead.
Tioga loaded the bases on a walk to senior McKenzie Williams, and singles by junior Lilly Mezzatesta and Samantha Golden, but couldn't muster another run.
In the second inning, 8th-grader Bri Lounsbury reached on a one-out infield single, and scored on a two-out RBI double by Feeko to make it 3-0. Williams drove the next pitch up the middle for an RBI single, and a 4-0 lead.
Tioga added another run in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Williams to make it 5-0.
The Blue Devils closed the gap to 5-1 with a run in the top of the fifth inning, but Tioga tacked on an unearned run in the sixth to extend the lead to 6-1.
Moravia provided the final margin with a two-out RBI single in the top of the seventh.
Feeko was 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three runs scored, and three RBI, while Lounsbury singled twice and scored one run, and Golden stroked a pair of singles to pace Tioga's 14-hit attack.
Williams singled and drove in two runs in the win, while Keaty singled and scored two runs, and Mezzatesta, Kithcart, and juniors Emily Shiner and Raegan Foley each added a single.
Kithcart earned the win, allowing two runs — one earned — on five hits, with six strikeouts and one walk in seven innings.
Tioga, now 8-2, hosts Groton Monday.
