YOUTH BASKETBALL: NORTHERN TIER FORCE 12U WINS ELECTRIC CITY MADNESS TOURNEY TITLE (w / Team Photo) (2025-05-06)

Valley Sports Report
SCRANTON — The Northern Tier Force 12U travel basketball team lost its first game at the Electric City Madness AAU Tournament, but avenged that loss in the title game to bring home championship hardware.

The Force dropped a 35-22 decision to NEPA NXT-Tillery in the opening round, with Cole Dulaney, Ace Johnston and Jacob Keene scoring five points apiece.

In their second game, the Force led wire-to-wire in a 34-17 win over NEPA NXT-Robertson. Connor Cole led the Force with 12 points.

On Sunday, the Force topped NEPA NXT-Crofton, 45-28 with Keene's double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds leading the way. Carson Hunt and Cole also scored 10 points in the win, and Eli Leavenworth added eight. The Force shot 52 percent (15 of 29) from inside the 3-point arc, and its stifling defense registered 17 steals and blocked four shots.

The win earned the Force a rematch with NEPA NXT-Tillery in the championship game, and the Force prevailed, 45-39, in overtime.

The Force raced out to a 25-11 lead at the half, and once again shot 52 percent (15 of 29) from two-point range.

Cole led the Force with 18 points, while Leavenworth had 10 points and six rebounds, Keene had nine points and six rebounds, and Harris Santiago added six points.
