IAC TRACK & FIELD: ALBRECHT LEADS TIOGA BOYS TO WIN OVER O-M; ROSSI BREAKS OWN SCHOOL RECORD (24 PHOTOS) (2025-05-07)
Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — Junior Gavin Albrecht was a four-time winner to lead Tioga to a win over Odessa-Montour, while freshman Vida Rossi broke her own school record in the Lady Tigers' loss here Wednesday afternoon in IAC Small School Track & Field action at Haggerty Field.
BOYS
TIOGA 91, O-M 49Albrecht was joined in the winner's circle by triple-winners senior Andrew Earley and junior Dominic Palmer, and double-winners seniors Trevor Wheeler and Kam Joyce.
Albrecht won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.2 seconds, and Joyce was second in 11.8 seconds.
Albrecht won the long jump with a leap of 19-feet, 2-inches, and Palmer was second at 17-feet, 11 1/2-inches.
Albrecht also won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 13-feet, and senior Ryan Chamberlain was second at 11-feet.
Albrecht teamed with Joyce, Palmer and junior James Miller to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 46.1 seconds.
Earley won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.4 seconds, and sophomore Elijah Bellis placed second in 16.6 seconds.
Earley also won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 59.3 seconds, and Miller was third in 1:04.0.
Earley won the triple jump with a mark of 37-feet, 3 1/2-inches, and sophomore Alen Winans was third.
Joyce won the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.9 seconds, and Earley was second in 24.5 seconds.
Wheeler, Palmer, Miller, and senior Dominick Ocasio teamed to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:49.1.
Palmer won the high jump at 5-feet, 6-inches, and Winans was second at 5-feet, 4-inches.
Junior Talon Wood won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:09.8. He placed second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:24.4, and was also second in the 3,200-meter run in 12:33.6.
Freshman Mark McCane won the shot put with a heave of 38-feet, 6-inches. He as third in the discus with a throw of 89-feet, 7-inches.
Wheeler placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 56.3 seconds, and Ocasio was third in 56.8 seconds.
GIRLS
O-M 81, TIOGA 54Rossi was a triple-winner to pace Tioga, but O-M used superior depth to win an 81-54 decision.
Rossi led a sweep in the 100-meter dash in 12.8 seconds, while 8th-grader Grace Howey was second at 13.8 seconds, and 8th-grader Natalie Kemp was third at 13.9 seconds.
Rossi broke her own school record in the long jump with a leap of 16-feet, 11 1/4-inches, and Smolinsky was third at 13-feet, 11 1/2-inches.
Rossi, Howey, and juniors Ava Smolinsky and Mia Hall teamed to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 52.4 seconds.
Rossi was second in the 200-meter dash in 29.4 seconds, and Kemp was third in 29.6 seconds.
Kemp won the 400-meter run in a time of 1:07.6, and freshman Aubrey Bennett was third in 1:15.4.
Sophomore Sadie Marshall finished second in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.1 seconds. She also finished second in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:19.8.
Sophomore Amelia Toomey finished second in the shot put with a heave of 26-feet, 4-inches, and sophomore Sara Prough was third at 23-feet, 7 1/2-inches.
Toomey was also second in the discus with a throw of 69-feet, 6-inches.
Freshman Aubrey Bennett was second in the triple jump with a mark of 25-feet, 1 1/2-inches, and freshman Amber Bennett was third at 24-feet, 7 1/4-inches.
Amber Bennett finished second in the pole vault at 6-feet.
Sophomore Serenity Relyea finished second in the high jump at 4-feet, 2-inches. She was third in the 800-meter run in a time of 3:02.6.
Tioga wraps up its regular season Monday at Newfield.
