NTL TRACK & FIELD: QUIROS, SHIKANGA, MALANOSKI PACE SAYRE'S EFFORTS AT LEAGUE MEET (13 PHOTOS) (2025-05-09)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Seniors Marco Quiros and Rose Shikanga won individual titles, and sophomore Hudson Malanoski and junior Emma Cole also reached the podium to pace Sayre's efforts here Friday at the NTL Track & Field Championships at Alumni Stadium.
Quiros won the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.51 seconds, and sophomore Dominik Musick was 24th in 1:02.83.
Quiros finished second in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.82 seconds, and senior Donte Rubeck was 20th in 13.15 seconds.
Senior Rose Shikanga won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 16.19 seconds.
Sophomore Hudson Malanoski finished third in the shot put with a heave of 43-feet, 4-inches. He was 13th in the discus with a throw of 103-feet, 8-inches.
Junior Emma Cole finished eighth in the discus with a toss of 82-feet, 7 1/2-inches.
Sophomore Declan Barry finished 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 33-feet, 10-inches. He was 25th in the long jump at 14-feet, 11-inches.
Sophomore Glenn VanBenthuysen finished 13th in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:53.3. He was 20th in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:31.22.
Musick was 20th in the 800-meter dash in a time of 2:26.85, and Rubeck finished 22nd in the 200-meter dash in 26.76 seconds.
Senior Morgan Hickey finished 19th in the triple jump with a mark of 26-feet, 1 3/4-inches.
Hickey was 25th in the long jump at 8-feet, 11 1/4-inches, while sophomore Maryze Rivera was 26th at 8-feet, 10-inches, and sophomore Neveah Rounsville was 27th at 8-feet, 7-inches.
Sayre returns to action Thursday at the District 4, Class AA Championships at Williamsport High School.
