Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Junior Brilynn Belles threw three first-half TD passes to junior Liz Robinson, and ran for another score, while senior Addison Westbrook added another "pick-6" to her school-record total in Waverly's, 37-19, win over Johnson City here Saturday night at Memorial Stadium in the regular-season finale of the Section IV flag football season.
"What a great way to end the regular season and reach our first goal of making the postseason," said Waverly coach David Shaw. "We will get back to work Monday and get ready to compete for a sectional title.
"We had a lot of girls step up today, and I could not be more proud of them — it was a total team effort.
"We continue to give more than we take, and it makes us coaches truly appreciate these girls," added Shaw.
Perhaps the biggest story of the night was Robinson, who was an emergency starter at center.
"She learned how to snap last night, when we found out we would be without Lauryn Welles," said Shaw. "She played phenomenal."
Robinson, who entered the game without a catch this season, led Waverly with seven receptions for 82 yards and three TDs, while senior Brinn Cooney had five catches for 59 yards, and senior Leah Cole had three grabs for 27 yards.

Waverly maintained a 6-0 lead until the Wildcats registered a pick-6 with 6:49 remaining in the first half. They tacked on a conversion run to make it 7-6.
The Wolverines answered with a quick scoring drive, capped by a 47-yard TD from Belles to Robinson to make it 12-7 with 3:55 left in the first half.
With 2:34 remaining in the half, junior Claire Clonch gave the Wolverines the ball back with an interception.

The Wildcats scored on its next two possessions to close the gap to 24-19 with 6:13 remaining in the game, but the Wolverines answered.

Moments later, Westbrook hauled in her second interception of the night — and 11th of the season — and returned it 50 yards for a TD for her school-record fourth pick-6 of the season.
Senior Cheyanne Dorsey led Waverly with nine tackles and two QB sacks, while Kittle had seven tackles, Westbrook had six tackles and two interceptions, freshman Maci Wheeler had four tackles and one QB sack, and sophomore Claire Clemens had four tackles and two pass break-ups.
