THE WEEK AHEAD: FINAL FULL WEEK OF REGULAR SEASON, HIGHLIGHTED BY DISTRICT 4 TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS (2025-05-11)
Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — It's the final full week of the regular season on both sides of the border, and Mother Nature could once again play a factor in this week's docket. However, the biggest event of the week is the District 4 Track & Field Championships on Thursday and Saturday at Williamsport High School.
There are 32 events on the docket this week, including seven each on Monday and Wednesday, and six on Tuesday.
The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:
MONDAY (8)• Waverly baseball and softball hosts Windsor in STAC action.
• Athens softball hosts South Williamsport in a non-league contest.
• Sayre hosts Notre Dame in non-league softball action.
• Tioga boys golf hosts S-VE at the Tioga Golf Club.
TUESDAY (6)• Athens hosts Wellsboro in NTL Large School softball action.
• Tioga baseball and softball hosts IAC North powerhouses Union Springs.
WEDNESDAY (7)• Sayre baseball hosts Towanda.
• Tioga baseball and softball wraps up the 2025 regular season with home games against Newark valley.
• Sayre softball hosts Towanda.
THURSDAY (5)• Athens and Sayre will be in action at the District 4 Track & Field Championships.
• Waverly girls golf hosts S-VE at Tomasso's Golf Course.
FRIDAY (5)• Athens softball wraps up the regular season at Towanda.
SATURDAY (1)• It's Day 2 of the District 4 Track & Field Championships — Class 3A for Athens, and Class AA for Sayre.
• Sayre baseball and softball wrap up the 2025 campaign at Sullivan County.
