SECTION IV GIRLS GOLF: WAVERLY TOPS ELMIRA; FALLS TO CORNING (2025-05-12)
Valley Sport ReportCORNING — Waverly posted a big win over Elmira, but wasn't able to keep up with Corning here Monday afternoon in Section IV girls golf action at Corning Country Club.
The Hawks were 2-0 on the day with a four-player aggregate score of 185, while the Wolverines carded a 201, and Elmira tallied 300. Notre Dame fielded just three golfers.
Corning freshman Delaney Abel earned low-medal honors with a 2-under par round of 35 on the front nine.
Senior Breanne Robinson and junior Addison Hunt led Waverly with matching rounds of 49, while junior Sophia Sileo shot a 50, and senior Lauryn DeLill carded a 53.
Freshman Emilia Mitchell and junior Olivia Cheresnowsky shot non-scoring rounds of 61 and 69 for the Wolverines.
Emma Steed led Notre Dame with a 47, and Mary Collins led Elmira with a 67.
Waverly hosts S-VE Thursday at 4 p.m. at Tomasso's Golf Course.
