IAC BASEBALL: UNBEATEN UNION SPRINGS BLANKS TIOGA, 7-0 (11 PHOTOS) (2025-05-13)
Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — Tioga was limited to four hits by a pair of Union Spring pitchers, and trailed from the outset in a 7-0 loss in IAC baseball action here on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.
Union Springs, now 17-0 and ranked third in the state in Class C, scored three runs in the top of the first inning, and added another in the second to take a 4-0 lead.
The Wolves, who beat Tioga 9-1 earlier this season, added three unearned runs in the fifth inning.
Freshman Josh Rought doubled, and seniors Shea Bailey and Garrett Godfrey, and sophomore Jackson Bombard singled to account for Tioga's four hits.
Rought was tagged with the loss, allowing four runs — three earned — on six hits in four innings. He fanned five and walked three.
Bombard allowed three runs — all unearned — on two hits, with four strikeouts and on walk in three innings of relief.
Tioga committed six errors in the loss.
Tioga, now 9-4, returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Newark Valley.
