YOUTH BASKETBALL: RED WAVE 14U TEAM WINS PHD TOURNAMENT IN CORNING (2025-05-14)

CORNING — The Waverly-based Red Wave 14U travel basketball team went 3-0 to win the PHD Tournament here recently at Corning-Painted Post High School.

Red Wave beat the Southern Tier Surge-Bucci, 46-18, in its opening game, and followed it up with a 55-37 win over Interstate-Van Fossen in the second round.

Red Wave faced Wally's Hall of Fame, comprised of players from Elmira, Horseheads and Corning, in the final game — both teams entered at 2-0. Red Wave prevailed, 52-40.

The Red Wave roster is comprised of Cole Hunt (Waverly), Drew Croft (Waverly), Brycen Fiske (Waverly), Cal Whitty (Elmira), Xander Reger (Elmira), Ethan Eiklor (Candor), Braylen Jessup (Wellsboro), Axel Murray (Waverly), Tucker Aumick (Mansfield), and Jonah Palmer (Tioga).
