NEW YORK STATE FOOTBALL: MaCAULEY LEADS THREE CLASS D ALL-STATE SELECTIONS FOR TIOGA (2025-05-28)

Valley Sports Report
SYRACUSE — Tioga had its Section IV, Class D championship run snapped at six in a row, but still had three players recognized as all-staters, led by first-teamer senior Tate MaCauley, in voting by the New York State Sportswriters Association.

(NOTE: This story did not post in February when it was originally written.)

FIRST TEAM
OL — Tate MaCauley, senior:
A four-year starter, MaCauley was a mainstay on an offensive line that paved the way for Tioga's running game to average 294 yards per game.

SECOND TEAM
RB — Jake Browne, senior:
Browne, who played JV football as a freshman, returned to the program for his senior season, and turned into a workhorse in the backfield.

Browne rushed for 1,422 yards and 23 TDs on 186 carries (7.6 yards per carry) on the season. In Tioga's 56-28 win over then-unbeaten Deposit-Hancock, Browne set team and Section IV records with 421 yards (on 32 carries), and eight TDs, which tied a Section IV record.

DL — Garrett Godfrey, senior:
A force in the middle of the Tioga defense, Godfrey had 48 tackles, including nine solo stops, one QB sack, one tackle-for-loss, and one forced fumble.
