LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL (8U): WAVERLY PULLS OUT 9-6 WIN OVER ATHENS AT NICHOLS-TIOGA TOURNEY (2025-06-14)

NICHOLS — Waverly scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull out a 9-6 win over Athens here Thursday at the Nichols-Tioga 8U Little League Baseball Tournament.

Leevi Sharpsteen singled to drive in Declan Fitzpatrick with the game-winning run. Wyatt Cron and Sammy Reznicek knocked in insurance runs.

The time limit — one-hour and 45 minutes — was reached with Waverly still batting in the top of the sixth inning.

Cron and Marshall Zwierlein, who singled and scored one run, pitched in the win for Waverly.
