DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL (MAJORS): ATHENS CRUISES TO 15-0 WIN OVER TUNKHANNOCK (24 PHOTOS) (2025-06-15)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Athens scored 13 runs in the bottom of the third inning to close out a 15-0 three-inning win over Tunkhannock here Sunday afternoon in the final game of pool play in the District 15 Little League softball playoffs.
Athens finishes pool play with a 3-0 record, and will host a game in bracket play Tuesday evening.
Molly McGrath earned the win for Athens, tossing a three-inning no-hitter. She fanned seven and walked four.
Athens pounded out 13 hits in two-plus innings, including no hits in a scoreless first inning.
Khloe Butcher singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in one run to pace Athens at the plate, while Harper Liechty homered, scored one run, and drove in two runs, Terrianna Orshal homered, scored one run, and knocked in one run, Haylee Bickhart doubled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, and Sadie Wanck doubled, scored one run, and knocked in one run.
Amelia Archibald and Lucy Cole singled, scored one run, and had two RBI in the win, while Sophia Bennett, Olivia Wilcox, singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, and Bryn Bishop singled and scored two runs.
McGrath singled and scored one run for Athens, while Kendall Butcher singled and drove in one run, and Brooklyn Watkins scored one run and drove in one run.
