DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE (MINORS): ATHENS FINISHES 1-1 IN POOL PLAY (2025-06-16)

ATHENS — Athens finished pool play in the District 15 Minors Division baseball playoffs with a 1-1 record, with a win over NEBall, and a loss to RTL.

Athens 12, NEBall 2
On Friday, Athens plated six runs in the top of the third inning to break open a 1-1 tie on its way to a 12-2 win over NEBall in the opening game of pool play.

Jorey Raupers delivered the big blow in Athens' big inning with a two-RBI triple, while Jase Blair and Jett Raupers added RBI singles to help Athens to a 7-1 lead.

Athens added one run in the fourth, and two each in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 12-1 lead. NEBall scored its final tally in the bottom of the sixth.

Jett Raupers singled, scored two runs, and had four RBI to pace Athens at the plate, while Jorey Raupers tripled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, and Blair singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run to account for all for of their hits.

Calvin Mosher scored three runs for Athens, while Colson Bishop scored two runs, Hudson Glielmi scored one run and drove in one run, and Daniel Bowman and Briley Owens each had one RBI.

Athens had five pitchers combine on a 1-hitter with 14 strikeouts.

Mosher allowed one run on three walks and two strikeouts in one inning, while Giovanni Sharpe fanned four and walked three in 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, and Jett Raupers fanned three and walked two in 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Bishop allowed an unearned run on one hit, while striking out four and walking none, and Colton Ecker struck out one in two-thirds of an inning.

RTL 10, Athens 0
On Sunday, RTL had a pair of big innings on its way to a 10-0 win over Athens in the final game of pool play.

Jorey Raupers and Hudson Glielmieach had singles to account for Athens' only hits in the contest.
