ATHENS — Landon Briggs and Parker Collum came through in the clutch as Athens scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally for a wild back-and-forth, 13-12, win over Wellsboro here Thursday evening in the semifinals of the District 15 Little League Minors Division baseball playoffs.

Athens will travel to Blue Ridge Saturday for the winner's bracket finals Saturday.

Wellsboro scored two runs in the top of the first, but Athens answered with four runs in the home half of the inning.

Wellsboro scored five runs in top of the fourth inning to take an 8-5 lead, then stretched its advantage to 11-5 with three runs in the fifth inning.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Landon Briggs stroked a two-run single with one out to close the gap to 11-7, and Beau Hall followed with an RBI double to make it 11-8.

Bentley Stephens capped the rally with an RBI single to trim the deficit to 11-9.

Wellsboro added a run in the top of the sixth to make it 12-9, but Tucker Owens singled to lead off the home half of the inning, Austin Briggs worked a walk, and Bentley Arcesi reached base on an error to load the bases.

With one out, Collum stroked a two-RBI single to close the gap to 12-11.

With two outs, Landon Briggs walked it off with a line-drive, two-run double.

Landon Briggs doubled and singled, scored two runs, and had four RBI, while Hall doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, Stephens singled twice and knocked in two runs, and Owens singled twice and scored two runs to pace Athens' 11-hit attack.

Collum singled, scored three runs, and had two RBI in the win, while Leo Loziere singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, Grant Campbell singled and drove in one run, and Austin Briggs and Arcesi each scored one run.

Hall earned the win, allowing one run on one hit, with two strikeouts and two walks in one inning of relief.
