ATHENS — E.J. Glielmi and Brady Shores combined on a 3-hitter to lead Athens to a 7-0 win over Tunkhannock in the quarterfinals of the District 15 Little League baseball playoffs here on a scorching hot Sunday afternoon.

Glielmi allowed two hits in four innings, while striking out eight and walking one to earn the win.

Shores fanned five and walked one in two innings of one-hit relief.

Glielmi led off the bottom of the first with a double, and Wyatt Raupers, Connor Robinson, and Jacob Keene followed consecutive RBI doubles to give Athens a 3-0 quick lead.

After tacking on a run in the fourth inning to make it 4-0, Athens scored three more runs in the fifth in a rally that featured a two-run single by Luke Shores, and an RBI double by Glielmi.

Glielmi doubled twice, scored one run, and had one RBI, while Keene doubled twice and scored one run, and Luke Shores singled twice, scored one run, and had two RBI to pace Athens' eight-hit attack.

Raupers and Robinson each doubled, scored one run, and drove in one run in the win, while Kruze Payne and Jace Smith each scored one run.

Athens will travel to Elk Lake Thursday for a semi-final match-up, while Wellsboro hosts Tioga-Lawrenceville in the other semifinal.
