DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE (MAJORS): ATHENS RIDES BIG FIRST INNING IN 15-2 WIN OVER TUNKHANNOCK (24 PHOTOS) (2025-06-29) Valley Sports Report ATHENS — Athens plated 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning and made quick work of Tunkhannock in a 15-2 four-inning win here Saturday afternoon in the consolation bracket quarterfinals of the District 15 Little League Majors Division baseball playoffs.
After Athens starter Jacob Keene struck out the side in the first inning, the Athens offense took charge.
E.J. Glielmi started the scoring with a two-run triple, and Easton Hubbard followed with an RBI single to make it 3-0.
After three walks, an error, and a hit batsman forced in runs to make it 8-0, Glielmi capped the rally with a three-RBI triple.
Tunkhannock closed the gap with two runs in the top of the second inning, but Athens answered in the home half of the frame with an RBI single by Kruze Payne and a two-run double by Wyatt Raupers to make it 14-2.
Keene and Rowan Morales combined on a no-hitter in the win.
Keene allowed two runs, while striking out two and walking two in 1 1/3 innings.
Morales struck out one and walked two in 2 2/3 of relief to earn the win.
Athens will host Tioga-Lawrenceville Monday evening in the District 15 consolation bracket semifinals.
