VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: TIOGA'S FEEKO HEADLINES ALL-VALLEY SUPER 7 AS 'GIRLS ATHLETE OF THE YEAR' (2025-07-03)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — Tioga junior RaeAnne Feeko led Tioga to a pair of Section IV championship games, and found success in a new sport. She is the Valley Sports Report 2024-25 All-Valley "Girls Athlete of the Year."

In the fall, Feeko was the driving force in Tioga's run to a Section IV volleyball title. 

An all-around player, Feeko could do it all on the court. She was an all-state selection. (No stats provided.)

This spring, Feeko led Tioga into the Class C championship game on the softball diamond.

Feeko hit .647, with 43 hits in 67 at-bats, including 13 doubles, two triples, and seven home runs. She also had 37 RBI, 40 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases.

Feeko walked six times and hit by pitches five times for an on-base percentage of .692. She had a slugging percentage of 1.209 for an OPS of 1.901.

During the winter, Feeko switched from the basketball hardwoods to the wrestling mats.

She posted a 14-8 record in her first season, including a first-place finish at the Stenglein-Davis Tournament.

(NOTE: The "Athletes of the Year" are generally three-sport athletes, with an exceptional two-sport athlete occasionally making the grade.)

Addison Westbrook, senior, Waverly:
Westbrook actually played four sports this year, competing in track & field and flag football in the spring.

During the fall, Westbrook was a key piece in Waverly's first-ever Section IV soccer title. She scored two goals, and dished out six assists.

During the winter, Westbrook was an exceptional defender with the ability score from all over the court. She averaged 12 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.7 steals per game, and canned 32 3 -pointers on the season.

This spring, Westbrook hauled in 65 receptions for 980 yards, and 15 TDs — all school records. She also rushed for more than 100 yards, and two TDs. In Waverly's two playoff games, she has 11 catches for 157 yards and two TDs, and ran the ball three times for 75 yards, and one score.

Defensively, Westbrook had a school-record 12 interception, including a school-record four pick-6s.

Westbrook finished sixth in the discus at the Section IV, Class C Track & Field Championships.

Addy Wheeler, senior, Athens:
Wheeler graduates as a four-year standout on the soccer pitch and the basketball hardwoods, and a solid contributor for the Wildcats on the track.

In the fall, Wheeler was the personification of calm and unselfish play, and she has a lot of skill as well. She scored eight goals and dished out six assists on the season.

During the winter, Wheeler, a fierce competitor with a sky-high basketball IQ, packed the stat sheet on a consistent basis. She averaged 13.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4 assists, and knocked down 20 3-pointers on the season.

Wheeler, the VSR "Defensive Player of the Year" two years in a row, was consistently put on the opposition's best player. She averaged 6.2 steals and 3 deflections per game.

This spring, Wheeler was a consistent points-winner for the Wildcats in the hurdling events, and helped the team to its 10th straight NTL title.

Sara Bronson, senior, Athens: A four-year standout in cross country and track & field, Bronson made her third trip to States in both sports this year.

Bronson won the Forbes Invitational, and placed third the Owego Dash in the Dark Invite. She finished 10th at the prestigious McQuaid Invitational, and was 23rd at the rugged Paul Short Invite at Lehigh University.

During the postseason, Bronson placed second at NTL Coaches Invite, and ninth at District 4, Class AA Championships to punch her ticket to States. At the PIAA Championships, Bronson posted her best-ever finish at 51st.

During the winter, Bronson was a key contributor on the hardwoods. She averaged 8.1 points, including 22 3-pointers, 4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 2 steals per game.

This spring, Bronson, a top point-getter for the Wildcats during the regular season, posted two first- and two second-place finishes to help Athens to its 10th straight NTL title.

At the District 4, Class 3A Championships, Bronson finished third in the 800-meter run in 2:21.31, but earned a trip to States when the top two finishers scratched out of the event. She finished second in the 1,600-meter run, but missed the state standard by one second, clocking in at 5:08.17.

At States, Bronson finished 27th in 2:20.01.

Ryleigh Judson, sophomore, Waverly: Judson had strong seasons on the pitch and hardwoods, then was one of the top track & field newcomers this spring.

In the fall, Judson provided a speedy scoring threat for a Wolverine team that won the school's first-ever Section IV title. She had three goals and one assist.

Over the winter, Judson made her bones on the hardwoods. She averaged 12.7 points, with 46 3-pointers, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.

This spring, Judson, , who finished the season as one of Waverly's top middle-distance runners, ran on the 1,600 and 3,200-meter relays that won the STAC and Section IV, Class C Championships. 

Judson also ran on the 400-meter relay that finished third at the STAC and Class C Championships. The 1,600 relay finished second, and the 3,200-meter relay was fourth at the State Qualifier.

Abbie McGaughey, senior, Sayre: The Sayre girls programs are struggling a bit currently, but McGaughey was one of a handful of girls to excel in three sports.

In the fall, McGaughey turned in a solid season for the winless Redskins. She had 32 service points, including 13 aces, 34 kills and 16 blocks, 72 digs, six setter assists.

During the winter, McGaughey was a steady presence on the hardwoods. She averaged 8.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.

This spring, McGaughey hit .340 (17 hits in 50 ABs) with four doubles, one triple, three home runs, 15 RBI, seven runs scored, and three stolen bases. She had a .421 on-base percentage, and a .640 slugging percentage for a 1.061 OPS.

McKenna Jarvis, sophomore, Athens:
A strong all-around athlete, Jarvis was a key contributor in all three sports she played, and she has two more years to go.

In the fall, Jarvis was a force on the defensive end of the pitch for the Wildcats. Fast, aggressive, and physical, she is not afraid on contact.

During the winter season, Jarvis emerged as the main compliment to Wheeler. She averaged 10.4 points, and 5.7 rebounds per game.

This spring, Jarvis, a good defensive center fielder, hit .342 (25 hits in 73 ABs) with four doubles, one home run, 18 RBI, 21 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases. She had an on-base percentage of .392.
