DISTRICT 6 LITTLE LEAGUE (MAJORS): WAVERLY TOPS ELMIRA HEIGHTS, 13-3, IN QUARTERFINALS (24 PHOTOS) (2025-07-03)

WAVERLY — Third-seeded Waverly scored seven runs in the first inning, and cruised to a 13-3 four-inning win over sixth-seeded Elmira Heights here Thursday evening in the quarterfinals of the District 6 Little League baseball playoffs.

Waverly led 7-1 after the first inning, and added three runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 10-2 lead.

Waverly tacked on three more runs in the third inning to extend the lead to 13-3, then retired Heights in order in the fourth to end the game via the 10-run rule.

Beau Bauman tripled and singled, and scored one run to pace Waverly at the plate, and Spencer Avery singled and scored one run.

Easton Donovan, Logan Naylor, Ethan Gray-Wright, Hank Cheresnowsky and Blake Wolcott each scored two runs in the win, and Easton Beach crossed the plate once.

Waverly will face the winner of the game between second-seed Horseheads and seventh-seed Big Flats on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
