NTL GOLF: TOWANDA MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW; ATHENS FINISHES SECOND AT RIVER VALLEY (24 PHOTOS) (2025-08-14)

WESTFIELD, Pa. — Towanda made it two in a row, topping runner-up Athens by 26 strokes here Thursday morning at River Valley Golf Course in the second NTL golf match of the season.

Only six golfers broke 80 on the 6,069-yard, par-72 course, and four of them were Black Knights. Two golfers shot 80, and one of them was a Black Knight.

Towanda shot a four-player aggregate score of 305 to post a 7-0 record on the day, while Athens was second with a 331, North Penn-Mansfield was second with a 352, and Wellsboro was fourth at 356. (Click here for full team standings, Individual Top 10.)

Towanda's Graham Welles earned low-medal honors with a 74, while Towanda's Boom Thompson and Athens junior Eli Hicks tied for second with rounds of 75.

Towanda's Baylee Clark was fourth with a 77, teammate Jason Wickwire was fifth with a 79, and Owen Savercool was seventh with an 80.

Athens sophomore Ty Owen tied for fifth with a 79, while  junior Lucas Greninger shot an 88, and sophomore Brooke Lyon, who was low on the day for the girls, shot an 89.

Junior Zaine Campbell added a non-scoring round of 92, and sophomore Colin Congdon tacked on a 96.

Junior Shaine Strickland led Sayre with a 109, while sophomore Caleb Grover added a 124, and junior Jordan Brown tacked on a 128.

NTL golfers return to action Monday at the Tyoga Country Club in Wellsboro.
