WOMEN'S COLLEGE SOCCER: WAVERLY GRAD WESTBROOK LOGS 90 MINUTES AGAIN IN NJIT'S 3-0 LOSS TO RUTGERS (2025-08-15)

Valley Sports Report
PISCATAWAY, N.J. — After missing her freshman season to a knee injury, Waverly grad Kennedy Westbrook, a redshirt sophomore on the Division I New Jersey Institute of Technology women's soccer team, was an ironman for the Highlanders in 2024 — playing in 16 of 17 games and playing every minute in those 16 games.

The 2025 season started the same way as Westbrook, a defender, logged 90 minutes in NJIT's 3-0 loss to intra-state rival Rutgers here Thursday night.

Last year, Westbrook was an America East All-Rookie team selection.

She recorded her first collegiate points with a goal and an assist against Bryant on Sept. 22, and was named America East Rookie of the Week the following game.

NJIT returns to action Thursday when it hosts UMass.
