THE VALLEY — Three more teams — Waverly and Tioga girls soccer, and Waverly girls swimming — make their 2025 season debuts on a busy Thursday that includes eight events in all.

GIRLS SOCCER
Norwich at Waverly, 2 p.m.:
The Wolverines are coming off a 13-5 season, which included the program's first-ever Section IV, Class B title, while Norwich finished the season with a 7-9 mark and a playoff appearance.

Waverly bumps up to Class A this season.

Tioga at Marathon, 4:30 p.m.: Tioga posted a 9-5-1 record and advanced to the Section IV playoffs for the second straight season, while the Olympians were 4-8-1.

Last year, Tioga cruised to an 11-2 win in the season-opener.

Towanda (0-1) at Athens (0-1), 5:30 p.m.: The Wildcats are coming off a 2-0 loss at home to Wellsboro, while the Black Knights lost 6-2 at home to Troy.

Last year, Athens topped Towanda, 3-1.

BOYS SOCCER
Waverly (0-1) at Norwich, 4 p.m.:
The Wolverines are coming off a 10-0 loss to Elmira Tuesday.

VOLLEYBALL
Wellsboro (1-0) at Sayre (0-1), 6 p.m. JV start:
The Redskins dropped a 3-0 decision to North Penn-Liberty, while the Hornets swept Canton.

Athens (0-1) at Troy (1-0), 6 p.m. JV start:
The Wildcats are coming off a 3-0 loss to Wyalusing Tuesday, while the Trojans swept past Williamson.

GIRLS SWIMMING
Norwich at Waverly, 5:30 p.m.:
The Wolverines are coming off an 8-0 dual season to win the Central Division title, while Norwich finished the season at 3-6.

BOYS GOLF
Waverly (0-2) at Oneonta (1-0), 2:30 p.m.:
The Wolverines are coming off a 232-238 loss to Windsor Wednesday, while the Yellowjackets topped Seton Catholic, 197-213.
